Day 3-Prosecco Road

Today was a great day.  I slept completely through the night (yay no more jet lag!) and got to eat a yummy croissant again!  After breakfast, we got ready and drove to Prosecco Road.  Prosecco is a wine...the road has lots of little stops on it to wine taste!  The view is gorgeous too.  There are rolling hills filled with vineyards.  Courtney told me that a lot of places have rose bushes at the end of a row because roses will get sick 5 or 6 days before the grapes will and they tell the farmers if they need to pull the grapes off early!  We stopped at Riva Dei Tor and Ca'Sarino.  At Riva Dei Tor we had a lunch of meats, cheeses, beans, vegetables, water and prosecco!  We sat outside overlooking all the beautiful vineyards--by far one of the prettiest places I have ever been to!  Prosecco is one of the best wines I have tasted.  It is so crisp and refreshing and Evan said that I can request it at Spec's so I know that's probably what I'll be doing!

The next stop was at Ca'Salina.  Courtney and Evan said it's usually very peaceful and quiet there, but today there was a party! The views were still breathtaking and the wine was still amazing.  Evan and I tasted a few different types while Court chased Porter and Eli around.  We then went up on top and sat on a grassy knoll type thing and just people watched and relaxed.  There were a LOT of entertaining, drunk, singing Italians! Porter and Eli were fun to watch run around.  They LOVE dogs and chased the dog around for a lot of the time.  It was a relaxing and fun end to the day!

Who knew? Italians like Texas wine!

Me in my "touristy" hat (Thanks, Tory) and my glass of moscato!

We finished the day eating garlic Irish sausage, spinach, and mac & cheese and watching Salt.  It was such a fun day! Tomorrow is Porter and Eli's birthday and we're going to Slovenia to go to the zoo!
