Finalmente en Venice!

26 hours later, I am FINALLY in Venice! My flight was going great, I was enjoying watching We Bought A Zoo, when it was announced we were making a stop in Halifax for a medical emergency.  The paramedics came and took a woman off the plane on a stretcher to go to the hospital.  The pilot said it would take about 20-30 minutes; we left 3 hours later.  I was not a happy camper but I survived. I managed to get probably about 2-3 hours of sleep thanks to the blanket, neck pillow, and eye mask JJ gave me! I never thought I would be an eye mask wearer...

The view flying into Europe this morning made the 12 hour flight worth it.  We flew directly over the Alps and they were gorgeous.

We finally landed in Venice around 11:30 here, 4:30 Texas time.  Unfortunately, the airport people were in no rush so I didn't get my suitcase until 12:30.  God has definitely been trying to make me a more patient person.  Getting off the plane I was hoping to see some good-looking Italian boys.  I found 2 of the best looking boys in Italy!

Courtney told me today that this week she is going to take me to Verona to see Juliet's balcony and the wall from Letters to Juliet (where I definitely will be writing a letter!), champagne tasting, and Venice!  Eli and Porter's birthday is on Monday and I'm so excited to get to be a part of it!

Even though it was a rough trip getting here, Italy is GORGEOUS and I have completely fallen in love with this country.  I can't wait for the rest of my week here! (:
